A Guyana Defence Force (GDF) contingent of 30 men led by Lieutenant Harold Fraser left here early Saturday morning for Barbados where they will be involved in security duties related to ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

An army release said that as part of their preparation, the GDF platoon was trained in areas associated with internal security, including search operations, securing key installations and the provision of special operations support.
