KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC - The coroner here yesterday instructed that an inquest with a jury be held into the murder of late Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer, officials confirmed.

Lawmen said the coroner, who met with Deputy Police Commissioner Mark Shield yesterday, directed that the inquest be held as soon as possible.

The officials said the coroner also ordered that Woolmer's body should remain in Jamaica until further notice.

Woolmer's widow has been informed of this decision, they added.

However, two team officials will remain in Kingston to see after the interests of the Woolmer family.

It was also disclosed that at the invitation of the Jamaica government, two officials from the government of Pakistan will arrive here today to liaise with Jamaica authorities and facilitate the ongoing investigation.

Woolmer, 58, died at the University Hospital in Kingston last Sunday shortly after being discovered unconscious in his hotel room.
