The United States Embassy says it will not be scheduling any visa appointments when Guyana will be hosting the Cricket World Cup matches.

In a press release yesterday, the Embassy said no appointments are available for visa interviews from March 27 to April 9 and the first available non-immigrant visa appointments will be on April 10. The Embassy advises persons with queries about visa matters to contact the Consular Section's Public Inquiries Unit at telephone numbers 225-7965 or 225-7966 or to email the Visa Unit at visageorge@state.gov

The release said the American Citizen Services section will be open during its regular hours from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm from Monday to Thursday and from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm Fridays. Emergency American citizens services are available 24 hours a day through the Embassy switchboard at telephone number 225-4900.
