Reality stepped in for the 'Golden Jaguars' who found themselves at the receiving end for the first time in the Digicel Caribbean Cup competition, going down 2-0 to St. Vincent and the Grenadines last evening at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.

The opening game in the Bobby Sookram group saw Guadeloupe upsetting Cuba 2-1.

But the game of the night and of the competition so far was the feature match up, Guyana creating numerous chances but failed to convert any.

The 'Jaguars' were set back from as early as the 4th minute when Jason Lloyd, who was favored ahead of Richard Reynolds for the starting position, made a crucial blunder in not grasping the ball, SVG's Shandel Samuel pounced on the ball and score.

Guyana dictated the flow of the ball but were guilty of squandering all their chances and paid the price of failing to register any points.

The game was put beyond the reach of the 'Jaguars' when substitute Sean Glynn waved his way past the defense and from a difficult angle to the near post, evaded the hands of Lloyd to cap a very bad evening for him and the Guyanese, who will have to win their next match against Guadeloupe tomorrow if they are to challenge for a semi-final spot.

The evening's opening match saw goals by Steve Bizacene and Jocelyn Angloma in the 31st and 87th minute leading Guadeloupe to full points against pre game favorites Cuba, who pulled one back in the 68th minute off the boot of Osvaldo Alonso.

Tomorrow's feature game will see last evening's winners (SVG and Guadeloupe) facing off, while the competition will continue this evening at the Hasely Crawford Stadium where Barbados, who drew with Trinidad and Tobago in their fist game, takes on group leaders Haiti in the opening game from 17:00hrs. T&T oppose Martinique in the main encounter from 19:15hrs.
