IN THE fast growing local hotel industry, boasting several top-of-the-line hotels, Grand Coastal Inn at Plantation Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara, has been able to carve a niche and maintain its coveted position as a 4-star hotel offering excellent customer service at 3-star rates.

And just what is it that makes it that much sought after luxury hotel?

Their eminently satisfied clients attest to the hotel’s ‘penchant for excellence’, the elegance, its ambience, commitment to offering the finest quality service and a determination to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of clients.

These attributes, coupled with professionalism, strong visionary leadership, and proper planning all add up to making Grand Coastal Inn a pacesetter by any standard.

Grand Coastal, which first opened its doors five years ago with 19 rooms, setting new standards in the hospitality business, has expanded considerably, now boasting 22 Executive rooms, 11 Deluxe rooms, 2 Grande suites, and 7 one-bedroom suites.

Executive Director, Mokesh Daby said the hotel has been patterned after the Marriot chain, and therefore its furnishing and décor take on a treasured North American opulence.

Ideally located, the hotel which is just about 10 minutes drive from the capital Georgetown also has a sister 16-room Grand Coastal Lodge on Regent Street in the heart of the city.

Grand Coastal Inn at Le Ressouvenir has the added advantage of being the only hotel between Plaisance and Rosignol. It is also within close proximity to the capital city, the Ogle Regional Airport, the CARICOM Secretariat, the International Conference Centre, and the University of Guyana.

For travellers wanting to experience the ambience and serenity of the coastland or to get an occasional whiff of fresh sea breeze, that Le Ressouvenir hotel is the best choice.

The appeal of the hotel has been enhanced by a spacious and well appointed courtyard overlooked by patios outside each room. From there, guests can relax and savour the pure Atlantic sea breeze with all its therapeutic properties, gently wafting across the garden city. The refreshingly cool and peaceful courtyard is ideal for cocktail receptions, parties and weddings.

For guests desiring to relax in the courtyard, a pool-bar and the dining room, located on either side can be used to advantage.

Included in the expansion programme undertaken over the last year is a new conference facility with state-of-the-art technology, with seats for more than 100 persons. For the convenience of guests there are also computer stations for those who do not have their lap tops. There is also a fitness centre, featuring the latest ‘work out’ equipment, located at the eastern end of the booking office, where guests can spend time exercising and keeping in shape at no extra cost to them.

And for the comfort of guests, all rooms are air-conditioned, opulently furnished (in keeping with 4-star standards) with hot and cold water; international direct dialling; large screen televisions with several international channels, and computer access. All rooms lead out to patios that overlook the waterfall pool area and the enchanting Atlantic Ocean on the other side of the East Coast highway separating the hotel from the ocean.

Mr. Daby said the management of Grand Coastal places a high premium on the preparation and delivery of food and beverage, and ensure that this service is second to none – of a high quality and appealing to guests. The hotel is known for menus that tantalise guests and encourage them to ‘keep coming back’ or if possible, stay.

“Caribbean Soul”, according to Daby, is the new dining experience.

The new dining facility is sophisticated and richly appointed. He prides it as “the perfect place to enjoy the exotic mix of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables and the wide array of meats, fresh seafood and fine wines that appeal to the most discerning connoisseur.”

The Caribbean Soul is located to the western end of the poolside bar which also has its own dining area.

Daby said the team of experienced hospitality specialists will provide personalised service for every guest, ensuring their comfort, satisfaction and peace of mind.
