ERROL Tiwari proved his superiority in chess when he made a clean sweep of the Oasis Café chess competition played over the weekend at the café in Carmichael Street. In the senior competition, Tiwari played undefeated against 11 others to nab the winner’s trophy while Learie Webster finished second and Roy Sharma third. Ng Lung Kit won the junior title after defeating Aman Deep in the final. Kit played most of the game on the defensive, but went on the offensive and eventually won the game due to an error by his opponent. In the semi-finals Kit defeated Khalid Gajraj whilst Deep got past Cecil Cox. The competition was organised by the Oasis Café and chess enthusiast Irshad Mohamed.
