SINCE its first commercial flight on January 1 last, Caribbean Airlines yesterday said it has recorded seven days with an On Time Performance (OTP) of 100 per cent, including Sunday, where all flights system wide departed at the scheduled times or earlier.

The average on-time performance for the airline’s operations up to Sunday was 85.9 per cent, on par with aviation industry standards, Caribbean Airlines said.

It explained that On-Time Performance is the measurement, by percentage, of when an airline’s flights arrive or depart the respective destinations within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival or departure time. Caribbean Airlines said it uses flight departure times to measure OTP.

Caribbean Airlines Chief Executive Officer Peter Davies said, “This excellence in performance is directly related to the commitment of the airline’s employees along with the extensive support of the Ground Handling services. At the end of the day, internal teamwork and fusion will be reflected externally, through passenger loyalty, as Caribbean Airlines delivers on its mission to achieve on-time performance, competitive prices, safe, reliable and courteous service. In short an excellent product.”

He added, “It is refreshing to see the positive impact of teamwork system wide. A very solid foundation is being laid to form a sustainable airline that will differentiate itself from the competition”.
