Second runner-up in the Miss Guyana Talented Teen Pageant Ashma John was on stage again last evening, this time in St Kitts where she would have competed against 12 other teen beauties for the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen title.

Sponsored by Digicel and Haynes Smith Youth Club, this pageant is in its 27th year and is touted as one of the most prestigious in the Caribbean.

Ashma left here on Boxing Day, December 26 accompanied by Miss Guyana Talented Teen Jenel Cox and organiser of the Miss Guyana Talented Teen Pageant, Simpli Royal CEO Pamela Dillon.

According to a press release from the organisers of the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen pageant, the contestants would have competed in four segments: production number, ambassadorial appearance, talent and evening wear. In the production number, for which ten points were awarded, delegates would have worn their national costumes. The ambassadorial appearance, which culled 40 points would have seen delegates in business-like attire and during this segment they would have been expected to speak for one minute each on a matter of current interest in their home countries. Eighty points were given for the talent piece which could only have been four minutes long, while the evening wear/interview segment would have garnered 95 points. For this segment, contestants would have paraded in a "youthful-looking" evening gown of ankle length or to floor. The short interview in this segment would have been made up of questions from the contestants' bio data.

The other contestants in the pageant were Shellya Rogers of Anguilla, Bianca Browne of Antigua and Barbuda; Ashley Browne of British Virgin Islands, Giani Webster of Curacao, Katherine Roso of Dominican Republic, Ahyana Bowen of Grenada, Mika O'Brien of Nevis, Ayesha Farier of St Kitts, Iva Satney of St Lucia, Sabrina Kirby of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Zobah Samuel of Trinidad and Tobago and Marisa Jean of the US Virgin Islands.
