Guyana is now the 100th ranked team in the world according to the latest rankings issued by the International Football Association (FIFA).

They are two places behind Barbados ranked 98, nine places behind Trinidad, ranked 91, on the FIFA/Coca Cola rankings list and 15 places behind St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Jamaica, the first English-speaking Caribbean country to qualify for the World Cup finals is ranked 57.

Brazil is still ranked number one while World Cup champions Italy are the number two ranked team.

Digicel's Kieran Foley has extended congratulations to the GFF and its president Colin Klass on the latest movement by the national football team hinting that the success of the team in the Digicel Caribbean Cup could have been a big factor and wishing the team a much higher place after the Digicel Caribbean Cup finals next year in Trinidad.
