Another talented Guyanese has made his dream a reality in a foreign land in the form of The Band Unity.

Put together by Guyanese Rayburn Reid who got his foundation in music playing with the GDF Frontline Band, The Band Unity, like its name, is a Caribbean mixture of a Guyanese (Reid), a Haitian and five Jamaicans.

Reid, who resides in Jamaica is a saxophonist. He has played in various bands over the last 20 years he has been there. His perseverance has led to him founding a seven-member band made up of himself, Steve Fisher - vocals, Brian McIntosh - drums, Keno Campbell - lead guitar/vocals, Joshua Stone - bass guitar, Blue - keyboard, and Tammi - vocals.

The Band Unity has produced an album called 'What Kind of Life' which was recorded and mixed in Jamaica.

Off of this album the track "Caught Up", which The Scene caught a sample of is hitting across the Caribbean in Jamaica, Trinidad, Belize as well as in the US and Europe. The song that hits out against corruption and warns folks not to get caught up in it was, according to the CD jacket, released in April 2005. With the right arrangements in place Guyanese should listen out for this track early in the New Year.
