ICC Women’s Club takes Christmas cheer to orphanages, homes for the elderly

The Women's Club of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) yesterday presented quantities of goodies to several orphanages and homes for the elderly as part of their programme of activities for the Christmas season.

The group visited eight homes including the St. John's Bosco Boys Orphanage, Plaisance; the Sad'r Girls Orphanage, Oleander Gardens, East Coast Demerara; the Children Convalescent Home, D’Urban Backlands; Missionary Chapel, East Street; the Cheshire Home, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara; the Joshua House Children’s Centre, Thomas Street, and the Dharm Shala, Sussex and King Edward Streets, Albouystown.

At each venue, the members of the ICC Women’s Club distributed foodstuff, kitchen utensils, laundry detergents, bed linen, towels and other items.
