Cabinet gives nod to more Timehri airport contracts

Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon yesterday announced Cabinet's no-objection to contracts for a number of rehabilitation works and the supply of equipment for projects under the Works, Housing and Legal Affairs sectors.

Among the contracts was one for $27.6M for the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Orinduik Aerodrome under the Air Transport Reform Programme; $14.9M for the execution of concrete and earth works to the perimeter road and apron at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri; US$100,000 for a consultancy to design the upgrade of the airport apron; $20.6M for the construction of roads, drains and structures at Block 8, Mon Repos Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara; $17.4M for the construction of roads, drains and structures at Block 'CC' Eccles, East Bank Demerara and $14.8M for the supply of office equipment, shelving and furniture for the Deeds Registry under its Modernisation Programme.
