The Mayor and City Council has announced that each of its municipal markets will be closed for a half-day on a designated Wednesday to facilitate a spraying exercise, starting today with Bourda Market at 1 pm.

According to a press release, Stabroek Market will be closed on July 7 at 1 pm, while on July 14 at the same time the municipal markets at La Penitence, East Ruimveldt and Kitty will also be closed.

The closure, the release said, is part of a continuous plan to eradicate rodents and vectors in the city markets and to provide a healthy environment for citizens.
