Last Saturday, the sun was hot and the skies were clear but conditions were soggy on the greens and wet and muddy on the fairways.

However, this did not stop President of the club, Hemraj Kissoon from returning an excellent scorecard for the Demerara Mutual medal play golf tournament. Kissoon shot a gross 91 for a net 67 from handicap 24. In second place was the steady Fazil Haniff with gross 81, net 67 from handicap 12. Lester Alvis, who was last weeks winner, held on for third with a gross 86 for net 71 from handicap 15. The longest drive went to Brian Glasford who seems to be getting the hang of his new driver. He carried his drive 280 yards down the number three fairway. No player was able to stick the green on the No. one par three hole for the closest to the pin prize.

Vice-President, Colin Ming presented the prizes on behalf of the sponsors, Demerara Mutual Life Group of Companies and expressed the gratitude of the club for their continued support for golf.
