The 13-year-old girl entangled with businessman Reeaz Khan was last evening admitted to the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) after earlier being refused.

A senior police source confirmed to Stabroek News that the child was taken to the NOC facility at Onderneeming, Essequibo last evening, following a ruling by Justice BS Roy in the High Court, but that officials there had refused to accept her. Stabroek News was unable to establish the grounds for the refusal. In the face of the refusal, the child was then escorted to the Suddie Police Station, in the adjoining village.

However, the police source said that officials at the NOC subsequently admitted the child. She is to remain there until June 25, when the court matter involving her and Khan comes up again before Justice Roy.
