Six firms in receivership for 2004

For 2004, six companies went into receivership up to May 17 including a consultancy, a plywood firm and a timber company.

According to information from the Court's registry, Future Investments(Guy) Inc.,(FII) on Lombard Street and Marketing Management and Consultant Inc.,(MMCI) at 45 Garnett St, Lamaha Gardens, were both placed into receivership on March 17 by Trust Co.(Guyana) Ltd., with attorney Parmanand Mohanlal appointed as their receiver.

The other companies are Plywood Industries Limited, Genastic Enterprise Ltd., Ismael Timbers and Trading Company Ltd. and another whose name was not stated.

The properties for both FII and MMCI are now being sold for $24M and $16M respectively.

However, 61 companies were registered up to May 17. These include a trucking company and a funeral home.
