Local investors are shying away from investing in a spill-free coffee cup invented by Mahaicony author, Ray Daggers.

In the April 2 edition of Stabroek Business, Daggers called on local investors to help finance his project by giving financial assistance to develop a prototype, for licensing and for lawyers fees since the prototype will have to be protected from imitators.

"Of the three dozen or so, serious businesses and individuals only one is Guyanese. I had serious inquiries from as far as the Far East." says Daggers, in an email to Stabroek Business.

Daggers is presently in London to arrange for a patent and then will be looking to manufacture a prototype in India.

The coffee cup is pulse-activated so it opens when picked up and closes when put down.
