Guyana won by a landslide victory in its semi-final round of the CARICOM Regional Quiz Competition at the National Cultural Centre yesterday. The competition is among a series of activities for the Caribbean Community's 30th anniversary celebrations aimed at heightening the awareness of young people about Caribbean matters and the integration movement. The Ministry of Education and the CARICOM Secretariat are hosting the semi-finals and finals of this quiz competition. The competition was for the first time staged for television around the Caribbean. In yesterday's semi-finals, round one saw St Kitts and Nevis going up against St Vincent and the Grenadines while in round two Guyana pitted its wits against Jamaica.
