GBTI settles at $30; Demtoco re-ignites at $160

Four companies saw some trades on the stock exchange yesterday including Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) after a long period with a transaction.

All in all 85,159 total shares changed hands for a consideration of $1.3M.

The shares of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) had the largest trade with 27,040 at $30 worth $811,200.

Banks DIH Ltd saw 45,119 shares being traded at prices of $5.50 and $5.40.

A total of 12,500 shares of the National Bank of Industry and Commerce (NBIC) sold on the exchange at a price per share of $10.80 for a consideration of $135,000.

While DTC saw 500 of its shares trading at a price of $160 per share.

Yesterday marked the 50th session of trading since the opening of the stock exchange in June 2003.
