Fifteen-year-old Guyanese golfer Christine Sukhram recorded her second international junior title recently, when she won the Pepsi Junior Golf Tournament held in Barbados.

The dedicated Sukhram who was recently selected by Soca Soft Drinks to benefit from its sponsorship programme for young talented Guyanese, added the Barbados title to a similar one she won in Trinidad during the month of March.

According to reports, Sukhram chalked up a five-stroke lead at the end of the first day then increased her lead to ten strokes on day two.

By the beginning of the third day, it was obvious that she was destined to be the winner since she had made it very difficult at that point for her competitors from Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Canada to reach her mark.

The victory added to her already consistent record of wins. Among her most recent victories were the Best Ladies Competition last year, the Guyana Open (Best Net), the Citizens Bank and the Universal Airlines tournaments.

Sukhram who is coached by her father, intends to remain devoted to the sport and to extend her record of international success.

Soca Soft Drinks remain committed to her sponsorship and to that of other Soca stars.
