No layoffs planned at Clico

Clico is not planning to lay -off workers as part of a revamp of its operations to meet a more competitive insurance environment.
Geeta Singh, operations manager at the Clico Life & General Insurance Co Ltd., explained on Tuesday that Clico would be sharing information with other Clico branches in the Caribbean and South America.
But she says the technology upgrades will not affect current employees.
Twelve persons from various departments were laid off earlier this year.
Clico's offices will be renovated to enhance their appearances and to make their environment more conducive to employee and consumer comfort.
Additional staff training will also be done and the marketing department is expected to work on enhancing the competitiveness of Clico's different products.
