PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, (CMC) - Trinidad and Tobago retained their West Indies Women’s Cricket Federation (WIWCF) limited overs knockout title when they beat St Lucia by seven wickets in the final on Sunday.

Batting first, St Lucia scored 115 all out off 50 overs, and T&T responded with 116 for three off 37.3 overs to register an uncomplicated win at the Frank Worrell Development Centre.

Captain Verena Felicien was St Lucia’s top-scorer with 27, as spinner Jade Chadee (3-30) led T&T’s bowling, with support from Envis Williams (2-17).

In-form West Indies batter Nelly Williams then stroked an unbeaten 57 and guided T&T to the easy win with more than 12 overs to spare.

In Saturday’s semifinals, Trinidad & Tobago had defeated Barbados by 117 runs, while St Lucia knocked out league champions St Vincent & the Grenadines in an 83-run victory.
