CHIEF Statistician of the Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Lennox Benjamin, has indicated that the results on Guyana's National Housing and Census cannot be changed or tampered with due to the complexity of the report.

Speaking to the Guyana Information Agency (GINA), he sought to dispel recent speculations, which have surfaced that the findings of the census are not available because some persons may want to tamper with the results.

According to Benjamin, it is impossible to tamper with the results, since the report provides in-depth details of each individual by household, area, region, gender, age, occupation and other information.

He noted that Guyana follows internationally prescribed procedures in the compilation of census results and complies with standards set out by the United Nations Statistical Division.

Meanwhile, the bureau will release the preliminary results shortly. These preliminary results show population count by regions, GINA said.

The final report, which will be made available to the public in the last quarter of this year, will provide information on Guyana's population by gender, region, households, institutions, location, ethnicity, economic activity and education, among other things, the agency added.
