The ruling PPP/C on Tuesday met with Commissioner of Police, Winston Felix to discuss the heightened criminal activity particularly on the East Coast Demerara.

According to a release from the PPP/C, General Secretary, Donald Ramotar led the team which also included Senior Counsel, Bernard De Santos, Cyril Belgrave, both PPP/C members of parliament for Region Four and party activists from the East Coast.

The party according to the release expressed its deep concern over the reported criminal activities, noting that the attacks have become more brazen.

During the meeting the policing team gave the PPP/C delegation a briefing on the situation and an update on the work that is being done to curb criminal activity in the area. Several ideas were also suggested at the meeting, some of which the police promised to follow up.
