Former world boxing champion Andrew 'Six Head' Lewis yesterday had the charge against him of discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a public place, dismissed.

Lewis, 33, who is also known as the 'Albouystown Cyclone', appeared in court for the commencement of his trial but Chief Inspector Gordon Peters told the magistrate that the witness had refused to give evidence in the case. As a result, the magistrate was forced to discharge the matter.

On February 20 Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge and he was sent on self-bail.

According to the police report, on February 15, Lewis allegedly fired off rounds from a pistol after a disagreement with a young man.
