The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club of New Amsterdam is up and running again after an extended hiatus of 15 years. The club recently held elections and was re-launched at the NBIC lawn tennis court in New Amsterdam and several persons were elected to the executive .

Those elected were Godfrey Lowden as president, Anthony Amerally vice president, Marlyn Ward secretary and Carol Humphrey treasurer.

The committee members are Watson Bowling, Anil Beharry, Mario Amerally, Jason Andrews and Jason Haniff.

The club has renewed its affiliation to the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) and is preparing for the association's inter-club tournament slated for the 22nd of this month and the Pegasus Open slated for the 19th.
