Showtime upset hot favourite Satranie last Monday as the curtains came down on the Kennard's Memorial Turf Club's Phagwah race meet at the club's race track, Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.

The chestnut mare won the feature race for her owner, grabbing the El Dorado stakes and a whopping first prize of $110,000. Third place went to Stop on Line.

Just in Time took top honours with two victories - races two and five. In race five, for the New Building Society trophy and first prize of $65,000, the bay foal outlasted Cash Run and Hustling Time, which came in second and third respectively. In race two, she beat World in Sixty. Hustling Time came in third once more.

Michael Simms' Lion Zion won the first race of the day from Fair Quest and Millennium Wind which took second and third respectively.

However, Millennium Wind returned to winner's row in race four, leaving in his wake My Arrival in second and Small Axe third.

First Lady was first in race three with Lucky Win second and Windy Classic third.

Winner's Row was in winner's row as she stormed to victory in race six ahead of Asian Dancer and Grains Man, in second and third respectively.

The champion jockey was Desmond Persaud who had three first place finishes and two seconds. Prem Chandra was the runner-up with one first and three thirds.
