Mash fever was in the air as the nation's children pranced to local soca hits at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall yesterday when day two of the Department of Education, Georgetown Children's Mashramani Competition continued with Dance I, Masquerade and Physical Display.

The Georgetown leg of competition kicked off on Tuesday at the National Cultural Centre with the Calypso and Dramatic Poetry Competitions and will resume today with Costume and Physical Display II.

More than thirty schools in the city participated in the dance categories while the physical display had just a few schools taking part.

The dance segment had new, creative pieces with the nursery groups standing out as "explosive".

The young ones from across Nursery schools in the city moved to several beats and performed with enough energy to rival adult revellers on February 23.
