DDL dominates in heavy trading

Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) dominated heavy trading yesterday on the local stock exchange.

Compared to last Monday's volume when only 11, 630 shares changed hands for a consideration of $96,066, yesterday saw 94,388 shares being traded at a value of $790,255.

Leading the trading was DDL with 57,844 shares moving at prices between $7 and $7.4. In the previous week, only 8,130 DDL shares were traded. In yesterday's session, Banks DIH notched up the second highest volume of trades: 30,350 at a price of $6.2. The previous week saw only 1,000 Banks DIH shares being traded.

Also on the board yesterday was Guyana Stockfeeds Incorporated (GSI) with 4,075 shares changing hands at $12.5 and Demerara Tobacco Company with 2,119 shares being sold at $65,

Trading is done by companies registered with the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries Inc (GASCI) every Monday at its offices.
