Adrian Dutchin is giving the masses permission to revel in the mash celebrations this year come what may.

A Road March and Soca Monarch contender, Dutchin is hoping to sweep both competitions with his pieces, "Permission" and "Fete and Fire". His latest single, "Permission" has taken off and already found favour with several mash camps.

The piece which says that it is all right to celebrate Mashramani, is Dutchin's entry for the Road March competition. Last year, the young singer/songwriter failed in his bid to become Road March King with his song, "GT Carnival", losing to Compton Hodges', "Umbrella Party".

In a recent interview with Stabroek News 22-year-old Dutchin said he is optimistic about his chances in both competitions. He said public response to the songs has been overwhelming.

Dutchin burst onto the local scene in 1998 with the group, Seven which recorded the hit, "Promises". The song was well received and the group went on to do several other pieces including the famed, "Buxton Spice".

During the three years of mixed blessings, the group won recognition and Dutchin was dubbed, 'The Entertainer'. His raw talent and vigour made him an instant hit with the public.

The group split in 2000 and Dutchin launched his solo career. Dutchin said that he loves to perform and finds joy in pleasing a crowd. "Nothing feels better than live entertainment. The adrenaline rush, the experience, it all makes for great stage performance," he declared.

He said that music has always been a part of his life since he was raised in a household deeply rooted in music. According to him, members of his family are passionate gospel singers.

This year Dutchin has done "Unification" for the Hits and Jams Mash Camp and "Ants in the Pants" for the Don Gomes Mash Camp. He is set to launch his album, 'No Limit' early next month.

Dutchin teamed up with Jomo and Oscar B of Bryon Lee and the Dragonnaires and members of his former group, Seven for the 14 track album which also includes several solo performances.

He said the album's title is reflective of his outlook on life. There is no limit to the things he hopes to achieve in life.
