Murder accused, Mark Thomas, called 'Kerzorkee', one of three men charged with the killing of cattle farmer, Shafeek Bacchus is reportedly recovering in hospital from a suspected case of food poisoning.

Thomas of Auby's Wine Bar, Norton and George streets, was taken to the Georgetown Hospital minutes after learning that he was to be charged with Bacchus's murder. He was at the time being held at the Brickdam Police Station lock-ups after being identified as one of a group of men in a vehicle driven from the scene of the January 5 Princes street shooting.

The capital charge was instituted against Thomas, an ex-policeman, owner of A&D Funeral Parlour, Ashton King and ex-policeman, Shawn Hinds on Friday when the matter was heard before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen.

King and Hinds were later remanded to prison.
