PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC - Antigua and Barbuda displaced St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this month in the top-10 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) rankings.

In the February ratings released, yesterday, Antigua and Barbuda, who were facing the Netherlands Antilles in a World Cup qualifier later yesterday, stepped up one place on the CFU list from their January position to number 10, relegating SVG to 11, while Jamaica stayed steady at number one.

Antigua and Barbuda, recent winners over the Caribbean’s seventh-ranked St Kitts and Nevis in a friendly international, moved up to 169th on the FIFA world ratings list, and SVG slipped to 170th.

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz slid two places down on FIFA’s list to 48th but remain a clear CFU number one ahead of Trinidad and Tobago, who are 68th in the world.

Cuba, 74th in the world, Haiti (94th), and Barbados (111th) fill the CFU’s top five spots, followed by St Lucia (129th), St Kitts and Nevis (133rd), Grenada (155th), Suriname (158th) and Antigua and Barbuda.

World champions Brazil remain FIFA’s best, ahead of France, Spain and Netherlands with CONCACAF’s Mexico now holding a lofty fifth spot.
