THE United States Embassy in Georgetown has reportedly withdrawn the visa issued to Home Affairs Minister Ronald Gajraj.

This follows a similar move by the Canadian authorities, which said the withdrawal should not be considered a sanction against the minister.

Chronicle understands that the visa revocation move by the U.S. was expected, as Canada, Britain and the United States usually take joint positions.

But Chronicle was unable to contact the US Ambassador Roland Bullen for confirmation on the step taken by the US Embassy.
