THE Guyana Police Force wishes to express publicly, its appreciation for the patience, support and cooperation of the general public particularly, law abiding citizens, during the Christmas season.

Prior to the commencement of this holiday period, the Force had indicated its intention to intensify mobile and foot patrols in and around Georgetown and outlying areas with special emphasis on the busy shopping areas. This we note has resulted in criminal activities in these areas being quite normal.

We are of the view that shoppers, commuters and business persons may have taken cognizance of the frequent advisories which were issued by the Force thereby reducing the scope for opportunity criminals. This certainly augurs well for the safety and security of our citizens.

The Force will continue to strive for the provision of the highest quality of service and protection for all citizens, as we continue to forge a partnership in the fight against crime.

We, in the Guyana Police Force, look forward for the continued support, cooperation and understanding of the public in the performance of our challenging task, aimed at making the society a safer place.
