Guyana's world-rated female boxer Gwendolyn `The Stealth Bomber' O'Neil has been given a chance of a lifetime. O'Neil is scheduled to fight the internationally-recognised `Queen of Boxing' Laila Ali in Abuja, Nigeria on January 10.

The non-title fight is for the duration of six rounds and will be in the super middleweight division. O'Neil told Sta-broek Sport yesterday that the fight is a dream come through. "I have been praying all my life [for this]. I'm sure that I will be one of her toughest opponents."

Ali, the daughter of legendary Muhammad Ali is the WIBA, IWBF and IBA super middleweight champion. Earlier this year Ali defeated Christy Martin.

`The Stealth Bomber', her trainer Lennox Daniels and husband Eion Peters will depart for Africa on January 2. O'Neil disclosed that she was able to secure the fight with the help of Barbadian promoter Samuel Layne.

The 33-year-old O'Neil's last fight ended in a third round knockout victory over Trinidadian Crystal Lassie. That was last month in Barbados.
