Demerara Tobacco shares keep rising

The price of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) shares went up another $5 to $65 this week as trading continued on the stock exchange on Monday.

A total of 1,170 of these shares sold on the exchange at that price for a total consideration of $76,050, while at a price of $60, 2,230 of the same shares sold for a total consideration of $133,800.

Two weeks ago, the price of DTC shares made a quantum leap of 43% from its price of $44.

Also trading on the exchange were 75,133 shares of the Demerara Distillers Ltd (DDL) at the price of $6.50 for a total value of $488,365.

Trading continues at the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries Inc. (GASCI), located at Robb Street and Avenue of the Republic, on Monday at 10 am.
