DDL offering five UG scholarships

Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) is offering five scholarships tenable at the University of Guyana for the current academic year in the fields of Engineering, Chemistry, Management and Marketing.

Three of the scholarships are for students at the UG Turkeyen Campus and are open for competition among those pursuing the degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Management, according to a DDL release.

The other two are tenable at the UG Berbice Campus and are open for competition among students enrolled for the associate degree in Chemistry or Marketing.

Each scholarship winner will receive $200,000 per annum for tuition fees, cost of books and incidentals. Application forms for the awards are available from the Registrar's Office at the University of Guyana (Berbice and Turkeyen) or the Human Resources Department at DDL, Plantation Diamond, East Bank Demerara. Interested persons are invited to send their applications before December 31, 2003.
