One of three men killed in separate shooting incidents on Friday night was yesterday identified as Orville Gabriel Jnr, originally of Kwakwani Housing Scheme in the Berbice River.

Gabriel and Comfort Zone taxi-driver Jason Chapman were ambushed in the Atlanticville area on the East Coast Demerara shortly after 10 pm and police believed that it was Chapman who identified Gabriel before he (Chapman) died later that night at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Nonetheless, there was some confusion over Gabriel's identity and relatives of another man, Brian Junior Gordon called 'Bry Bry', were making checks at the city morgues after the incident. However, Gordon's mother told Stabroek News yesterday that none of the bodies was her son's, leaving her wondering what might have happened to him.

There was some speculation that Gordon might have been ensnared in the incident and his mother told this newspaper yesterday that she was unable to confirm whether he had been wounded, was lying somewhere or had been taken alive by the attackers.

She claims not to know the whereabouts of her son. Gordon has not been seen at his Craig Street, Campbel-lville home since the incident.

The two men were killed less than two hours after another Sophia man, Mark King, was gunned down in his yard.
