New Ogle runway to cater for Suriname flights

The Ogle Airport Development Project has commenced work on a new runway to be completed at the Ogle aerodrome next year and will be accessible to planes landing here from Suriname and Venezuela.

Plans are also underway for the construction of a terminal at the airport. The project is estimated to cost US$100,000.

Airport Manager, Anthony Mekdeci said yesterday that drainage work was in progress and would be completed shortly. Work on the runway and terminal will commence in January and March respectively.

Minister of Transport and Hydraulics, Anthony Xavier was on hand for the announcement.
