President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday met with heads of the various Chambers of Commerce and the Guyana Manufacturers' Association.

According to a press release from the Government Information Agency, Advisor to the President, Manniram Prashad told the media that the meeting was part of the regular one Jagdeo hosted with the private sector. He noted that because of the magnitude of the issues, the entire private sector was not invited at once.

Among those who accompanied the president at the meeting were Ministers of Tourism, Manzoor Nadir, Finance, Saisnarine Kowlessar, Prashad and Ambassador Bayney Karran.

The chambers of commerce represented at the meeting were Berbice, Bartica, West Berbice, Upper Corentyne, Essequibo, West Demerara/Essequibo Islands, Georgetown, Linden and Rupununi. Ramesh Dookhoo represented the GMA.
