The police yesterday announced that they have charged confidential secretary Joan Bedlow with murdering her husband last Friday night at their Enterprise, East Coast Demerara home.According to the police, the 42-year-old woman, of 205 Enterprise, Section ‘C’, made her first appearance at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and was remanded to jail until yesterday.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent David Ramnarine, Bedlow was expected to make another appearance at the Vigilance Court yesterday.

The confidential secretary allegedly stabbed 45-year-old Prince Bedlow sometime before 11 pm on Friday, shortly after he returned home from a nearby shop.

The father of three died after receiving a wound to the upper left-side chest with a letter-opener.

The police said the man had returned home drunk and had had an argument with the woman.
