Activity on the stock exchange continued to be light yesterday with only 25,000 shares being traded for a total value of $342,000.

This compares to last week’s trades of 27,000 shares worth $181,412.

Yesterday, a total of 5,000 shares in the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) traded at prices between $25 and $30 earning $145,000.

Banks DIH Limited had 5,000 of its shares traded yesterday at a price of $6.30, down from $6.40 last week.

With their volume up from last week, shares of Guyana Stockfeeds Inc. (5,000) traded at $15 for a total of $75,000.

Five thousand National Bank of Industry and Commerce (NBIC) shares went for a price of $11.90 per share, yielding a total of $59,500 in value.

Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) also had 5,000 shares traded at a price of $6.20 for a total of $31,000 in trades.

Yesterday marked the 15th session of the stock exchange which was opened for business on June 30 and continues to have its trading sessions every Monday at 10 am. According to the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries Inc. (GASCI) Market Journal, shares remaining for the next session are 3,533,000 of Banks DIH Limited at a best offer (best price at which one is prepared to sell) of $6.40; 628,000 of DDL at a best offer of $6.30; 165,000 of NBIC at a best offer of $13; 13,000 of GBTI at a best offer of $30; 4,000 of Guyana Stockfeeds Inc. at a best offer of $15 and 2,000 of Property Holdings Inc. at a best offer of $6.

Bids remaining are for 620,000 shares of Demerara Bank Limited at a best bid (best price one is prepared to pay) of $1.20; 100,000 shares of Citizens Bank Guyana Inc. at a best bid of $10.50; 39,000 shares of Demerara Tobacco Company Limited at a best bid of $44 and 10,000 shares of Sterling Products Limited at a best price of $15.
