Ferreira-James is GPF’s Best Female Sports Personality

LAST Friday, the Guyana Police Force (GPF), held its annual Awards Ceremony for Best Cop & Sportsman/Woman-of-the-Year at the Tactical Services Unit Square, Eve Leary, where five outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen were presented with prizes and trophies by the Police Commissioner, Floyd McDonald.
The Best Sportsman-of-the-Year was awarded to Constable 18171 Blackman while Constable W. 17148 Benjamin and Special Constable W. 12184 James copped the Best Sportswomen prizes.
The Best Male Sports Personality prize was awarded to Inspector A. Halfrose, who is described as an excellent cricket player.
Meanwhile, Lance Corporal W. 18602 Ferreira-James secured the Best Female Sports Personality of 2003.
James is an International football referee who is involved in a number of sports activities including football, cricket and athletics.
All the awardees received $10 000 in cash and a trophy.
