THE leadership of the Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) has declared that the organisation “will rise from the ashes” following the recent destruction by fire of Mohammed’s Enterprise in which building its Secretariat was located.
Describing the catastrophe as “a test” which occurred during the month of Ramadan, the Trust said in its Eid Al-Fitr message that certainly after every hardship there is ease, and that with each test the believer is expected to become stronger.
The body said that it has received an “overwhelming response” from all its brothers and sisters both locally and overseas, and it was firm in its belief that it will overcome this trial.
The Guyana Islamic Trust described Eid Al-Fitr, which is being celebrated today, as one of the best and happiest days in the lives of all Muslims. It is a day of great joy and festivity.
“As we bid farewell to Ramadan, let us all resolve to be constant in the practise of our noble faith. The strength of the resolutions, intentions and promises we made in Ramadan must now stand the test of time. Each Ramadan that we witness must leave us stronger and firmer in our faith and in obedience to Allah,” the message of the Islamic Trust said.
The organisation also called for every Muslim to stand up and defend their religion and honour, while resolving to shun all forms of divisiveness and disunity among the Ummah.
