Wayne `Big Truck’ Braithwaite has shifted to another waiting bench.

The World Boxing Council cruiserweight champion is now waiting to make the second defence of his title against O’Neil Bell with no clear indication of when or where the fight will be held.

Braithwaite told Stabroek Sport yesterday that since the WBC wrote him about two weeks ago identifying Bell as the replacement for Italian Vincenzo Cantatore, no further word was received.

“I have not heard anything more from them. I know that I’ll be fighting Bell but I can’t say where or when,” the champion said.

The WBC sprang into action and identified the number one ranked Bell as a replacement for the elusive Cantatore after Braithwaite wrote an open letter earlier this month to the organisation which was published on internet web site Fightnews.com.

In the letter the champion questioned the reasons for the frequent postponement of his scheduled fight against Cantatore who is ranked behind Bell.

Braithwaite defeated Cantatore in October of last year to become the second Guyanese to win a world title. He defended the coveted crown once - against Ravea Springs, in a fight he won via fourth round KO in February.

Undefeated in 19 fights (16 KOs) Braithwaite suffered at least four postponement before he finally faced Cantatore in October and was enduring a similar Royal Run Around leading up to the rematch.
