Stock trading picked up pace on the fourth Monday of trading yesterday, with 43,800 shares in five companies changing hands.

Last week’s debutante, Demerara Tobacco Company saw 10,000 of its shares traded at a price of $31.10.

The National Bank of Industry and Commerce (NBIC) saw 2,000 of its shares traded at $15.

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) saw 3,500 of its shares traded at $28.

Some 18,700 shares in Banks DIH were traded at $7.50.

Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) saw 9,600 shares traded at $7. Total volume for the day’s trading was $646,138.

No trades were recorded for Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) shares with a best bid of $12. Bids were made for 2,000 of Citizens Bank Guyana Inc (CBI) shares at $13 per share but there were no trades.

Trading will continue next week at the Guyana Stock Exchange which is managed by the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries Inc. (GASCI) on the Avenue of the Republic.
