Woman, 10 men deported from C'bean, North America

The Criminal Investigation Department yesterday issued the names, photographs and particulars of 10 men and a woman who were deported to Guyana for various offences committed in United States of America, Canada, Antigua and Trinidad.

They are as follows:
Maxwell O'Neil Mona, 38-year-old of Chester Village, West Coast Berbice was deported from Trinidad and Tobago for larceny.

The man departed Guyana legally in 1999 for Trinidad and on 2002-01-04 he was arrested and charged with larceny.

Mona appeared in court and pleaded not guilty and after continuous trails he was found guilty.

Mona was sentenced to two years imprisonment and upon completion of his jail term he was detained again after being involved in a fight and subsequently deported to Guyana on 2003-08-06.

Earl Anthony Dey, age 34 of Camp Street, Georgetown (Car Wash Hotel) was deported on 2003-07-21 from Canada for organising sales of narcotics.

The subject migrated to Canada on 1990-05-02 and was arrested on 1996-08-07 and charged with organising sales of narcotics.

Dey appeared in court and after continuous trials he was found guilty in September 1997 and sentenced to six months imprisonment.

After completing his imprisonment period he was released and had to report to Immigration every six months, which he complied with.

However, Dey reported to the Immigration in October 2002 where he was issued a removal notice to leave the country and was deported to Guyana.

Rickford Basdeo Sooklall, 44-year-old of Number 9 Village, West Coast Berbice, was deported on 2003-08-01 from the United States of America for conspiracy to import narcotics.

Sooklall left Guyana legally on 84-10-04 for the United States of America and was arrested on 96-10-30 for conspiracy to import narcotics.

He appeared in court and was sentenced to forty-six (46) months imprisonment.

On completion of 40 months, he was released into Immigration custody and deported to Guyana.

Joan Suzanne Miller Nee Wong, 59-year-old of Lot 110 Carmichael Street, North Cummingsburg was deported to Guyana on 2003-08-09 from the U.S.A for larceny.

Miller legally migrated to U.S.A in April 1968 and was arrested and charged on 2001-07-31 for larceny.

She appeared in court and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment and after 20 months she was handed over to the Immigration Department and later deported.

Clarence Anthony St. Hill, age 25 years old of Lot 28 Geod Hope, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara was deported to Guyana from the United States of America on 2003-08-09 for possession with intent to sell narcotics.

St. Hill departed Guyana legally on 87-04-12 for the United States of America however, on 2002-08-07 he was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell narcotics.

He appeared in court and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. On completion of I year he was taken in Immigration custody and deported to Guyana.

Inikab Allie, 31-year-old of Lot 88 Lenora Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara was deported from the United States of America for possession and sale of narcotics.

On 2002-08-07 Allie was arrested and charged with the above-mentioned offence, he appeared in court and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

He completed 1-year jail term and was handed over to the Immigration Department and was deported on 2003-08-20 to Guyana.

Gavin Tanner, age 32 years old of Nabaclis Village, East Coast Demerara was on 2003-08-16 deported from the United States of America for (murder) manslaughter.

The subject legally migrated to U.S.A in 1981.

In 1992 Tanner was arrested and charged with murder which was broke down to manslaughter, he appeared in court and was sentenced to 8 and a third to 25 years in jail.

He completed 11 years jail term and was taken to the Immigration Department where he was deported.

Lawrence Cicero, 39-year-old of East La Penitence, Georgetown was deported from the U.S.A for attempted murder.

Cicero left Guyana legally on 75-12-07 for the U.S.A and was arrested and charged in August 1981 for attempted murder.

He appeared in court and was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment and on completion of his jail term he was handed over to the Immigration Department and deported on 2003-08-17.

Lawrence Matthew Clarke, 31-year-old of Lot 98 South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara was deported on 2003-08-12 from Antigua for possession of narcotics.

He migrated to Antigua legally on 2002-03-17.

The subject was arrested and charged on 2003-08-01 for the above-mentioned offence.

Clarke appeared in court and was fined $500 East Caribbean Currency, which he paid and was later deported.

Claymon Mc Garrell, 23-year-old of Lot 11 West Road Sparendaam, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara was deported on 2003-08-23 from the U.S.A for trafficking in narcotics.

Mc Garrell left Guyana in 1989 for the U.S.A.

He was arrested and charged in 1999 for trafficking in narcotics, he appeared in court and was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.

On completion, he was released into Immigration custody and deported.

Henry Ismond, 42-year-old of Lot 260 Craig, East Bank Demerara was on 2003-07-03 deported from the U.S.A for conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

Ismond departed Guyana legally in 1986 for the United States of America.

On 89-07-05 he was arrested and charged for conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

Ismond appeared in court and was sentenced to 195 months to 16 years 3 months imprisonment.

After completion of 13 years he was handed over to Immigration and later deported.
