ALFRED Mentore was unstoppable as he captured the DEMTOCO-sponsored golf tournament at the Lusignan course last Saturday.

Even the difficult flag placements could not stop Mentore and he was the only player who returned a net score below par, when he shot a 78 with handicap of 9 for gross 69.

Imran Khan followed with 76-5-71, winning on a count-back from David Cockroft with a 99-28-71. Khan also won the best gross in the 0-12 group while Jackie Chin with 88-13-75 won the 13-20 group and Hemraj Kissoon with 96-23-73 was the best in the 21 and over group.

On the distaff side, Christine Sookram took the honours with 88-12-76 from Joan Fields with 112-35-77 and Melissa Humphrey with 117-36-81.

The closest to the pin on the par three 5th hole was won by Mike Mangal while Basil Sookram took the longest drive in the No. 3.

Country Manager of DEMTOCO, Michael Harris, took part in the tournament. He commented on the tight flag placements, which gave him some degree of difficulty but said he was extremely happy to be a part of the tournament.

Club President Mike Brassington expressed gratitude to DEMTOCO for sponsoring the tournament and for all the prizes and wonderful gifts presented to the various winners by Area Manager Trade/Marketing Mersha Worrell.

Harris in reply, said that DEMTOCO was happy to be a part of golf and the company looked forward to being involved again next year on an even bigger scale if possible.
