On Saturday the Criminal Investigations Department, Police Headquarters, Eve Leary issued seven photographs along with a correspondence of the latest deportees who were sent to Guyana for various offences.

Micheal James, age 51 of Lot 459 Bullet Wood Street, Linden, was deported on 2003-06-25 from the United States of America for conspiracy to money laundering.

James departed Guyana legally in 1975 for the USA.

In September 1999, he was arrested and charged for conspiracy to money laundering.

James appeared in court and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. On completion of his jail term, he was released into Immigration custody and later deported.

Chandradat Ramsammy, age 28 of Lot 10 Bella Dam, Poudroyen, West Bank Demerara.

He was deported on 2003-06-27 from the United States of America for attempt murder.

Ramsammy departed Guyana legally for the USA in October 1979. On November 8,1993 he was arrested and charged for attempt murder. Ramsammy appeared in court and was sentenced to four to twelve years’ imprisonment.

On completion of nine years, he was handed over to the immigration department and later deported.

Sheik Mohamed, age 26 of Lot 56 Robb Street, Georgetown, was on 2003-06-17 deported from the USA for possession of narcotics.

Mohamed migrated to USA legally on 93-03-31. In September 1999, he was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics.

Mohamed appeared in court and was sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

On completion of his sentence, he was released into the custody of immigration and later deported to Guyana.

Bobby Sherman Surinarine, age 25 years of Lot 153 ‘B’ Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice, was deported on 2003-06-07 from the United States of America for distribution of narcotics.

Surinarine departed Guyana legally in April 1988 for the USA.

However, on 2000-08-04, he was arrested and charged with distribution of narcotics.

He appeared in court and was sentenced to two years imprisonment, he completed his sentence and was handed over to the immigration department and later deported to Guyana.
Frank Anton Corlette, age 49 years of Lot 127 Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, was on 2003-06-19 deported from the USA for possession of stolen property.

Corlette departed Guyana legally on 72-09-27 for the United States of America.

On 2001-05-11, he was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

He appeared in court and was sentenced to three years imprisonment, on completion of one-year jail term he was released into immigration custody and later deported.
Winston Alves, age 45 years of Lot 51 Fourth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, was deported on 2003-06-19 from the USA for possession of narcotics.

The subject left Guyana legally in November 1992 for the USA.

Alves was arrested in December 2001, and charged with possession of narcotics.

He however, appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the offence.

After continuous trial the matter was dismissed. Subsequently he was detained by immigration and deported to Guyana.
Philip Ramphal, age 37 years of Ann’s Grove Village, East Coast Demerara, was deported on 2003-06-05 from the United States of America for robbery.

Ramphal departed Guyana legally on 83-04-08 for the USA and in December 2001, he was arrested and charged with the robbery.

Ramphal appeared in court and was sentenced to four days imprisonment after which he was placed on probation.

However, in January 2002, he was arrested after he violated his probation.

Ramphal was placed before the court and sentenced to three months imprisonment.

On completion of three months he was handed over to the immigration department and deported to Guyana
