The five men who were implicated in last month’s bank heist appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen yesterday to answer a joint charge of conspiracy to commit a felony. An arrest warrant was issued for a sixth man.

Moses Denhart of 28 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Godfrey Smith of Albouystown, Keith Caesar of 192 Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke, Neville Holder of 43 Norton Street, Lodge and Mark McDonald of 43 Melanie Damishana Squatting Area along with Rohan Khan (not yet arrested) are accused of conspiring to steal money belonging to Scotiabank some time between October 1, 2002 and May 20, 2003.

According to the particulars of the charge Caesar, Holder and McDonald were employed by Securicor Guyana Incorporated and were responsible for cash in transit at several banks in the country.

It is alleged that during the said period they schemed with Denhart and Smith to steal $43,820,000 from the bank. Khan was allegedly drafted in later. They are to return to court on Thursday.

The five were previously charged with simple larceny on June 3 when they appeared before Magistrate Brassington Reynolds at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court and were remanded to prison. They were jointly charged with two counts of simple larceny each. An arrested warrant was also issued for Khan at the hearing.

Caesar’s reputed wife, Yvette Dodson of 196 Kuru Kuru and Khan’s reputed wife, Nazeem Hack appeared before Senior Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle to answer similar charges of receiving stolen articles and were remanded to prison. The two are accused of receiving money, property of Scotiabank knowing it to have been stolen.

Hack has since been granted bail in the sum of $100,000 while Dodson was granted $150,000 bail. The duo will return to court on July 18.
